Hello, my name is Tish,

I’m the person behind the mystery of the land of wigs. This all about my work that I wanted to show the world and those around.

A little bit about me. I’m a wig maker and make-up artist from Devon a small village to be precise called East Allington. I studied at the University of Somerset in Taunton. I started out as a hairdresser the normal really. Then as I started in the industry of hair it made me think about those that don’t have hair but have wigs how are they made. I met a teacher who knew about the wig industry and it got me intrigued by it and the make-up industry after I finished the hair courses I studied and spent a year in salons I went back to college at South Devon College and studied hair media make up which started my passion for it. I then went on to the University of Somerset to study media make-up at degree level.

My passion for this did not just come from films, fashion, music, and the internet but the everyday people fascinated me because I wanted to be able to make a difference. That is the goal I’m ready to achieve. I don’t just work with wigs but also other Medias such as postiche, hi-fashion, and makeup, hairstyling, prosthetics and general make-up. I like to not just do one thing but do many other as well being diverse help's. I am inspired by many things. The main ones are Alexander McQueen, films such as Rocketman, Robin Hood, and Spider-Man and also a lot of music as well mainly rock and metal music. But overall there is always inspiration around you it just got to be found in the way it wants to be found. I find it not reading not by hearing but seeing it for myself in open spaces.

PERSONAL PROFILE

As a creative person who likes to show her artistic skills through hair and makeup, I have a passion for the theatre and the film industry. I also love being creative with just not makeup but hair as well. I apply this to daily life as well and hope to make that as creative as I can. Being creative helps me take the opportunities that arise and to learn new skills while learning as I go along. I hope to be able to then show my skills to others in the hope to teach them and learn new ones as I go along. One of my goals is to gain the skills to enter theatrical hair and make-up or film production industry.

WORK EXPERIENCE

One year of work placement in a salon Kingsbridge called bliss for hair. I completed tasks such as shampooing clients' hairs, answering the phone and taking bookings. 2015 to 2016.

Work experience on production of Geopark talks with South Devon college doing hair and make up for the whole show also touch-ups and making sure everything has been done also takedown of all the makeup after the shows ended. The year 2016.

Charity event at East Allington primary school. EA 5k and 10k run in memory of a teacher. Face painting for children has completed this for the last two years and looking to carry on doing this small one-day event. 2018,2019.
